Class of 1966 Reunion Challenge
It’s hard to believe that it’s been 50 years since I last listened to my favorite professor, Steve Klass, give a lecture. As I reflect on my time as a student, I’m reminded of all my wonderful memories at Adelphi. The experiences we had at Adelphi, both inside and outside of the classroom, played a big role in molding us into the people we are today. I am grateful to Adelphi for opening up so many doors for me, and I know many of my classmates feel the same.
By now, you should have received a letter from our classmates inviting us to Adelphi University’s Class of 1966 Reunion June 3rd and 4th weekend. I hope you will be joining me for what promises to be a memorable few days. I know Adelphi is excited to welcome us home.
As a generation that has always been passionate about the causes we believe in, we have the opportunity to make a tremendous impact at Adelphi. Let’s commemorate our reunion by giving back and making a gift in honor of our 50th reunion. It’s all about participation. The University recently reached a milestone of 10% alumni participation in giving. I know the Class of 1966 can do even better than that. Let’s set the example with a 25% participation in our class gift. A gift of any size counts. To help build momentum I will pledge $10,000 to our class gift when we exceed the 25% participation goal. We can do this!
I sincerely hope you will accept my challenge to give back to the institution that has had such a profound impact on our lives.
Our 50th reunion is a milestone for us as individuals and as a class. Just think, if we reach our goal of 25% participation among our class, we will have one more thing to celebrate when we return home to Adelphi this June!
