Help School of Social Work Students in Need
We’re committed to excellence at the School of Social Work
For more than 60 years, the Adelphi University School of Social Work has been at the forefront of preparing social workers through its B.S.W., M.S.W., and Ph.D. programs. From teaching and mentoring to community engagement and field experience, we’re constantly working to provide a vast range of high-quality student opportunities. We aim to ensure that every graduate of the Adelphi University School of Social Work is grounded in both theory and practical experience—and thoroughly prepared to make an impact.
You can help a graduate or doctoral student earn their degree faster with your Giving Day gift to build a scholarship fund for deserving current graduate students like Kimberly and Francine.
Kimberly is attending the Garden City campus and is particularly interested in working with families, especially single mothers and their children. Her mom was a single parent of 6, and although they faced many challenges, her mom taught her how to overcome obstacles. Besides working towards her MSW, Kimberly is a (newly) single mother of 2 and a Vocational Case Manager, serving ex-offenders. Her 3.4 overall GPA shows how driven and dedicated she is to earn her degree.
Francine, a Hudson Valley campus student, began reaching out to the admissions office at Adelphi University over two years ago, and decided this past summer that the time was finally right. It is a decision she does not regret. With many years of experience as a court advocate for victims of domestic violence and case manager for an alternative to incarceration program, she is very grateful for her professors’ support of her passion for research and policy development. They have made the tools and resources available to her to develop the necessary skills to best serve her clients and the community.
